Third Party Events

What is a third party fundraiser?

A third party fundraiser is an event that is planned independently by a business, group or individual to benefit the LITE Foundation. These types of supporter hosted fundraisers are essential to helping our organization carry out its mission of promoting literacy.

I want to help, but I don’t know where to start

Please download our step-by-step event planning guide which includes a list of fundraising ideas to get you started.

How much planning support can I expect to receive from the LITE Foundation?

Though we are limited in what we can offer, here are a few ways we help to make your event a success:

1) We promote your event on the LITE Foundation social media pages and our website event calendar.
2) We provide collateral material such as brochures and buttons to distribute to your guests.
3) If it is feasible, a LITE representative will attend and speak at your event.

You the host are responsible for all aspects of your fundraiser including marketing, planning, food and all other related costs.

Ok, I’m ready to plan my event. What do I do next?

The LITE Foundation must approve all third party events. To ensure that your event is in keeping with our guidelines and charitable standards, please notify us by completing and submitting an event proposal form.
